Quick History of Sedona Wineries
Although the first vineyards and modern wineries in Arizona were established in the late 1900s, Arizona’s roots as a winemaking region date all the way back to the 1600s. Spanish missionaries recognized similarities between the beautiful weather and soil conditions in Arizona and Spain, and decided to plant the state’s first vineyards to produce wine for sacramental purposes.
Fun fact — the first Arizona wineries were planted almost 200 years before the wineries in California, so Sedona’s wine history goes back even further than the iconic wine regions of Sonoma and Napa Valley!

Situated right on the banks of Oak Creek, Page Spring Cellars is one of the most popular (and beautiful!) wineries near Sedona. It’s home to a tasting room that serves flights, glasses, and bottles of wine that can be enjoyed in the tasting room or out in the sunshine. Page Springs Cellars also has a bistro that serves small bites, soups, salads, paninis, flatbreads, and entrees to pair with your glass of wine.
If you’re interested in learning more about the winemaking process, Page Springs Cellars offers three guided tours — the Estate Winery Tour, Barrel to Bottle Reserve Tour, and Private Tour — that include tastings (including a tasting straight from the barrel!) and a behind-the-scenes look at the vineyards.
2. Javelina Leap Vineyard & Winery

Javelina Leap Vineyard & Winery is a family-owned and operated boutique winery near Sedona that serves award-winning wines made from grapes grown exclusively in Arizona.
This winery offers tasting flights that feature five wines of your choice from the current wine list, including Riesling, Sangiovese, Merlot, and Tempranillo. You can order a glass or bottle of any of these wines, or order a glass of signature sangria or sparkling rosé (not included in tastings).
If you’re looking for something to snack on with your glass of wine, Javelina Leap Vineyard & Winery also offers “grab-and-go” charcuterie boxes and chocolate truffles (perfect to pair with a glass of red!). You can also take a private 45-minute cellar tour at this family-owned winery for $95 per person.
3. DA Ranch

- Tasting Cost: $50 for four wines (+ a vineyard tour and a souvenir wine glass)
Looking for a dog-friendly and family-friendly winery in Sedona where you can kick back, relax, and sip on a refreshing glass of local wine? If so, you’ll love DA Ranch!
This 170-acre boutique property is filled with mature trees, bubbling streams, sparkling ponds, and spacious grass lawns to create a lush oasis in the high desert of Sedona that the entire crew (even kids!) will love for a day of wine tasting in Sedona. They often host events, like live music and food truck weekends, for an atmosphere that always feels lively and fun.
DA Ranch is the only 100% estate-grown vineyard in Northern Arizona, so most of the wines, including the Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, are made on the property. Wine tastings are available on select days and do not require a reservation — just be sure to check the calendar for availability, since DA Ranch is sometimes closed for weddings and other private events. The tasting also includes a tour of the historic property and the vineyards, as well as a souvenir glass to bring home with you.
4. Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery

Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery is a kid-friendly winery in Sedona (fur babies included!), so round up the whole family for a day of wine tasting at this eleven-acre property in Page Springs. This winery offers a selection of pre-selected wine flights — White, Lighter Reds, Bolder Reds, On the Sweeter Side, or Medal Winners — or you can mix-and-match wines that catch your eye to build your own flight.
Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery also serves glasses of sangria, sparkling wine, and a special weekend cocktail that rotates monthly. If you’re hungry, you can also order a cheese plate, charcuterie board, artichoke and spinach dip, or a hummus plate to enjoy with your wine. And, for a behind-the-scenes look at Oak Creek Vineyards, consider booking a behind-the-scenes tour that includes an exclusive barrel tasting for $40 per person.
5. Winery 1912

Winery 1912 is the only wine tasting room in Uptown Sedona that serves local Arizona wines, grown at Dragoon Mountain Vineyard in Wilcox. You can sample Spanish and Iberian varietals, including Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Dorada. In addition to wine-tasting flights for $20, Winery 1912 also offers small bites, including an artisan cheese tray, hummus plate, and olives.
