But first — how did Sedona become such a hotspot for art creation and curation?

Things to Do

Quick Overview of Sedona's Art Scene

Quick Overview of Sedona's Art Scene

Sedona’s art culture dates way back to the original tribes of Native Americans who inhabited the land, most notably, the Yavapai and Apache. These tribes were responsible for creating some of the earliest art in Sedona, including pottery, baskets, and petroglyphs. You can still find traditional Native American art at several studios in Sedona. However, the region’s art scene expanded in the 1950s and 1970s to welcome different styles of art, from Mid-Century to Western art.

One thing is for sure — whether you’re interested in original paintings and sculptures, stained glass, nature photography, or even wearable art, you’re bound to find something that speaks to you at one of the following art galleries in Sedona!
